Dog Friendly Marlborough Wine Trail

I’m a huge lover of wine! So while we were travelling through the Marlborough region of New Zealand in our campervan with our dog Logan, I couldn’t resist doing some wine tasting!

All over New Zealand there are amazing cellar doors to visit and beautiful wines to taste. I was unsure if we would be able to enjoy a walk around the cellar doors with a dog and I couldn’t really find any clear cut information online on whether dogs were allowed in wineries.

So we decided to risk it, if nothing else we would have a nice walk in the sunshine!

There are many wineries in walking distance within Renwick which is why we chose that part of the Marlborough Wine Trail. We parked up our campervan for two nights for free at the Woodbourne Tavern and spent a gorgeous day walking the Marlborough Wine Trail.

If you’re a lover of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc then a wine tour of this region is a must! I however am definitely not a Sav Blanc lover, so I was pleasantly suprised to find several other grape varieties in this region that took my fancy. In fact I found my new favorite wine –  The Doctors’ Reisling.

Here are the wineries we visited:

Dog Friendly Wine Tour in Renwick, Marlborough

  1. Geisen Wines

Geisen was the first stop on our tour. Geisen has outdoor seating and you can pop inside for a tasting. Choose four wines to taste for the tasting fee. I also tried their really interesting cider and pinot gris blend.

  2. Nautilus

Nautilus has some outdoor seating you can enjoy and pop inside for a tasting. It was a beautiful sunny winters day and very quiet so the lovely lady did the tasting for us outside. Choose the $5 or $15 tasting option.
